Treasury Tuesday - Creative Gift Wrapping

I just noticed that you were improperly packaged, my dear. This week's Etsy Treasury features some pretty cool gift wrapped packages. It was inspired by a quote from one of my favorite holiday movies... How The Grinch Stole Christmas with Jim Carrey. I just LOVE that movie!

I like to have fun with my gift wrapping. Especially at Christmas time. I usually have to load my gifts into my car and drive an hour to where we are celebrating Christmas that year. So I prefer not to use bows as they tend to get messed up when piled into the car or during the drive.

So I try to come up with alternate ways to 'decorate' my packages. I've done many different wrap designs throughout the years. I did something like the one you see in the picture below when my niece and nephews were little. It made unwrapping the gift easier for them.

Another year I collaged their names on the packages, using letters cut out of magazines. My 15 year old niece still has her gift wrap from that year! And at the very least I try to have a theme so that all gifts 'match' while under my tree.

Here are some cool gift wrap ideas I found online at Real Simple's web site. I don't know what they used in the first picture, but I think using some of that really cool paper or fabric tape, or even fancy duct tape would look great!

These gifts (below) were wrapped with string and bow-tie pasta. A great way to get your daily dose of carbs. You could probably eat the string too. ;)

The next couple of gift wrap ideas I found on John Boak's blog... Wrap Artist. The only problem with receiving a gift from John is you might not want to open it and ruin the 'gift wrap.'

The package below by John Boak was wrapped using magazines. Although a bit more time consuming than regular gift wrap, this one's right up my alley!

If you've come up with your own creative gift wrap ideas, I'd love to hear about (or see) them.
